内容説明

In the last few years, electromyography has made an astonishing development which at least in part has been made possible by the enormous progresses in electronics. The boundaries between electromyography and the recording of evoked potentials are not always very clear-cut. Nevertheless, the two methods are dealt with in two separate volumes of this handbook. Modern EMG machines with their large number of facilities and gadgets make it increasingly difficult for the physician to know and to understand what he ultimately is recording. For this reason technical and methodological problems are discussed at some length. The first edition took individual methods and electrophysiology findings as starting points. In this edition, a more clinical minded point of view has been taken. The electromyographic findings are discussed in the light of the individual disease entities. The use of the handbook will facilitate the clinically working electromyographer by this procedure.
