Description
This volume covers regression, correlation and related techniques. The reader learns to use exploratory data analysis and confirmatory techniques to analyze the trends in data. Rather than linger over formal mathematics, the treatment shows how powerful PC programs can be used in an interactive way to produce illustrative diagrams and graphs that help in the study of data. The text features practical help and a number of worked examples throughout. All the problems involve the use of real experimental data and illustrate some of the difficulties encountered with such data, where there is no "correct" answer. Most of the procedures mentioned are included in the computer package CHEMSTAT, which is also available from the authors. However, this text could also be used in conjunction with other statistical packages.
