内容説明

After World War II Germany was denied access to nuclear technology, yet this study reveals that German governments of all persuasions have, over the post-war years, planned for Germany to become a nuclear power. Dr Kuntzel has examined confidential papers and interviewed government officials and diplomats in Europe and North America to produce a book that challenges accepted beliefs about Germany's role in the nuclear world. He argues that the Non-Proliferation Treaty (NPT), which the USA and the Soviet Union were striving to achieve, was sabotaged in the 1960s by high-level West German intervention, resulting in loopholes which are of vital importance for international security today.
