Description
Amos Gitai is a controversial Israeli film-maker. Trained as an architect, his documentaries and features display his own distinct style, often enhanced by the camerawork of Henri Alekan and Nurith Aviv. Since the documentary "House", Gitai's films have been banned by Israeli TV and most of his work has been produced in France, Britain and Italy. This collection considers his films, including "Pineapple", "Bangkok-Bahrain", "Esther" and "Berlin Jerusalem". The annotated filmography includes an interview with Alekan, as well as material by Bernardo Bertolucci, Serge Daney, and Edoardo Bruno.
