Description

Many topics that make up current research in statistics are also important to some branches of engineering. This text arose out of a conference that provided a forum for UK researchers in both communities. The work is divided into four sections on chaos, image analysis, Monte Carlo methods and communications networks, all of which involve the modelling or analysis of complicated, non-deterministic phenomena.
