内容説明
This study of Glasgow employs a geographical approach to illuminate the interaction between the social and spatial forces which have conditioned the processes and patterns of urban growth and change over time in Britain's second largest city. The text is organized into two complementary parts. Firstly, a chronological approach is employed to examine the main agents, processes and patterns underlying the development of the city from its pre-urban origins until the close of the 19th century. Secondly, the major issues relating to the socio-spatial development of Glasgow in the 20th century are the subject of systematic examination.
