Description

The Soane House, a four-storey cabinet of curiosities assembled by the great English architect Sir John Soane (1753-1837), is one of London's secret treasures. Architecturally unique, and stuffed with busts, paintings, books and maquettes of Soane's designs, it is celebrated today as a supreme achievement of Neoclassicism. This first complete documentation of the Soane House examines the building's highly individual design in a series of beautifully detailed photographs.
