Description and Table of Contents
Description
Drawing on feminist, poststructuralist and Marxist theory, this book develops a framework for understanding power relations within fields as diverse as queer activism, municipal politics and the regulation of lesbian reproduction. Cooper explores the relationship between power, sexuality and the state and, in the process, provides a radical rethinking of these concepts and their interactions. The book concludes with a discussion of how an ethics of empowerment can inform political strategy.
