Description
The past two decades have shown a huge increase in interest and new knowledge concerning the shoulder. Today, surgery of the shoulder is recognized as one of the most important areas of orthopaedic surgery. Many surgeons now limit themselves exclusively to the shoulder in their practice and research work, obtaining thus an outstanding experience in this field. During the congress particular emphasis was placed on teaching and some 100 renowned shoulder specialists were invited to share their expertise. The invited speakers have developed manuscripts based on the papers delivered at the assembly, and their publication herein will no doubt stimulate improved methods for the diagnosis and treatment of shoulder disorders.
