内容説明
1993 witnessed a watershed in Italian politics, as many of the old elite were discredited by corruption scandals. In the wake of these events, electoral law was transformed, the long-dominant Christian Democrats all but disappeared and the Italian left made its first attempt to create a cohesive coalition - the progressives - to offer a credible political and governmental alternative. This book assesses the political scene in Italy, analyzing the collapse of the First Italian Republic and discussing possible future scenarios.
