Description

The second edition of this book continues to offer gynecologic surgeons the most practical, comprehensive and up-to-date information needed to enhance performance. It covers anatomy, physiology, and surgical procedures in great detail, with the added benefit of high-quality illustrations to portray difficult surgical techniques and their applications. As in the current edition, it is written by leading authorities which lends a varied perspective to the material. Extensive coverage of all the new suture materials and their selection, including staples and surgical drains, and wound closure techniques are included. A new chapter on the management of episiotomies has been added. The section on INFERTILITY includes chapters on reconstructive tubal microsurgery, ectopic pregnancy, tubal sterilization, metroplasty, and myomectomy. The section on ENDOSCOPIC AND LASER SURGERY covers intra-abdominal applications of laser surgery, including a new chapter, "Laparoscopic Assisted Vaginal Hysterectomy". The new section on MANAGING COMPLICATIONS OF GYNECOLOGIC SURGERY includes chapters on hemorrhagic complications, geriatric gynecologic surgery, peroperative care and more.
