内容説明
This book contains the Proceedings of the International RILEM/UNESCO Congress held in Paris, in June 1993, organized with the co-operation of ICCROM, EUREKA/EUROCARE, ICOM, ICOMOS and The Getty Conservation Institute. It contains new information from international researchers and practitioners on current approaches to conservation of stone and other construction materials in historic building structures. The contributions cover a wide range of topics and include results of laboratory experiments and trials in new techniques, as well as case studies on actual monuments and sites. As well as natural stone, contributions also deal with baked clay, ceramics, mortars and concrete. Since the understanding of causes should be a guide to recommended practice for protection and restoration, repair materials are also dealt with. The contributions are organized into six main topics: pollution and chemical effects; physical effects; biological effects; petrography; the role of structure; and prevention and treatments.
This book should be of interest to structural and civil engineers, materials scientists and technologists, building researchers, architects, conservation specialists and government authorities concerned with historic structures.
