内容説明
This volume outlines the scientific evidence which suggests that breastfeeding is the preferred form of feeding for infants. It gives information on the methods used to evaluate mental development in breast-fed versus formula-fed infants. In addition, it discusses the important metabolic and functional aspects of essential fatty acids in premature and full-term infants. The book also surveys breastfeeding trends and government programmes to increase the rate of breastfeeding in selected countries.
