This fifth edition of this volume updates the reader on the breadth of research that has been conducted on stuttering. In addition to research on the aetiology, incidence, characteristics, and treatment of stuttering, the author includes information on neuromotor control research, comparison of developmental stuttering to neurogenic stuttering, and advocacy/self-help groups. In this revised and updated handbook, the author has interwoven the results of some 400 studies at appropriate points in the text and included 2000 references.
