Description
This text surveys key economic policies that are high on the current policy agenda in developing countries. Each chapter analyzes an individual policy area, surveys the theoretical arguments relevant to the policy concerns and provides brief examples of country experiences in an attempt to evaluate the evidence of policy success or failure. Policies covered include: budget deficits and macroeconomic policy exchange rates; trade and foreign exchange liberalization and financial sector reform; poverty and income distribution and redistribution; and taxation.
