Description

An exploration of England, Scotland and Wales, this book features aerial photographs of buildings and places usually only seen from the ground. The images, text, and captions are organized by region, giving an overview of many historical monuments. From the Canterbury Cathedral, the Gothic spires of Oxford University to the dramatic St Michael's Mount in Cornwall or Hadrian's Wall in the north of England, this book travels to significant places and tells their story. The birds-eye photographs have been specially commissioned and include a number of places that are often overlooked. This book is for the armchair traveller, the tourist, and the historian.
