内容説明
This work reviews contemporary campaigns for community participation and empowerment throughout the world. It describes the context of globalization, international restructuring and increasing polarization between North and South and within individual states, and assesses the relevance to selp-help and community participation of developments within the "mixed economy of welfare". It critiques the concept of empowerment and demonstrates how communities are taking more control over key social and economic issues that confront them.
