Description
Under the overall theme of "population, sustained economic growth and sustainable development", the largest ever International Conference adopted a new "Programme of Action" that will guide national and international action in the area of population and development for the next 20 years. More than 180 States took part in negotiations to finalize the Programme of Action which is detailed in Volume 1, along with oral and written statements and reservations on the Programme.
