Description
This book is primarily intended as a practical guide to the care of patients with disorders of micturation, including incontinence, which require management by catheters or other appliances. It outlines the pathology, microbiology and management of the infective and other complications which may affect these patients, and explains basic urological principles. It discusses care of patients, both in hospital and at home, as well as the practical aspects of choice and use of catheters, drainage equipment and other appliances. Recommendations concerning hygiene and infection control are also presented.
