内容説明
Energy is essential to life, and the quantity of energy consumed per capita can be used as an indicator of a country's development level. The major increase in energy consumption in the present century is due to the use of fossil fuels which also have an impact on the environment. This text studies the main challenges of energy supply and demand, describing the need for different methods of energy planning depending on whether plans are short- or long-term. It considers the energy technologies of the future and their influence on long-term energy planning. The specific topics covered give a generalized presentation of the different energy models or the different energy planning methods, thus allowing students to understand energy planning in sufficient detail and within a concise framework. In some instances, case studies illustrate the advantages and constraints of particular planning methods. Each chapter begins with clear objectives and ends with self-assessment questions.
