内容説明
This book provides an introduction to the whole area of computers and their applications, beginning with the historical development of hardware and software and discussing the variety of computer applications in present-day use. Most introductory texts emphasize large scale computer applications to the exclusion of smaller microcomputer applications. Others tend to concentrate on smaller computer applications rather than referring to major users, both types often fail to address the issues which industry and commerce demand. This book's balance presentation of all of these is coupled with a unique feature which acts on the recent initiatives introduced by the British government. It provides in each chapter a discussion of "enterprise" to help the reader to prepare for the world of work, all of which will make it a welcome addition to the literature.
