This volume presents coverage of contemporary Latin American architecture. With an introduction by the Argentine architect, Miguel Angel Roca, it reviews recent architectural developments in Mexico, Colombia, Chile, Argentina, Brazil and Peru. The colourful Spanish and early Indian religious traditions and the volatile political context in which such architecture is conceived is considered and the work of over 20 Latin American architects, including Teodoro Gonzalez de Leon (Mexico), Laureano Forero (Colombia) and Enrique Browne (Chile), is introduced into the vocabulary of Western architecture.
