Essays of American-domiciled Anglo-Welsh poet. This collection of essays, interviews and poems explores the life and work of Leslie Norris, one of the foremost Anglo-Welsh poets writing today. His teaching career has been mainly in the United States, as visiting professor at anumber of universities, and his work appears regularly in the New Yorker and Atlantic Monthly. Norris is currently Humanities Professor of Creative Writing at Brigham Young University; the author of thirteen volumesof poetry, he has won the Alice Hunt Bartlett and Cholmondeley Prizes in poetry and the Katherine Mansfield Award for short stories. An Open World introduces Norris's unique life and career, with poems by William Stafford and Ted Hughes and essays by Glyn Jones, Judith Kitchen, Peter Davison, Ted Walker, Brendan Galvin, William Matthews, Mark Jarman, and Fred Chappell.
