An alphabetically arranged guide to the programmes, stars, characters and catchphrases of the golden age of British radio, from the very beginning to the late 1960s. The book itself covers both the BBC and the early commercial stations and contains over 1600 entries which include "Itma", "Hancock's Half Hour", "I'm Sorry I'll Read That Again", and radio characters which include Stinker Murdoch, Gilbert Harding, Richard Dimbleby and the Ovaltinies. The author is the creator of "Sounds Familiar" on radio and "Looks Familiar" on television.
