Description

Containing the basic principles, laws and equations for the design and application of cams and cam-operated mechanisms, with particular reference to industrial machinery, the material in this book is also applicable to mechanisms that do not involve cams, and to motion systems in general. Accompanying the book are computer programs which evaluate the most important equations and produce a drawing of the cam profile on a PC screen, together with certain critical values. Warning is given if these values are likely to be unacceptable, so that design parameters may be changed and immediately checked, enabling rapid optimization and visual assessment of a design.
