内容説明

The purpose of this text is to familarize cardiovascular health care providers with the unique aspects of cardiac pacing in children. It is based on 20 years of experience in the field and is the only book totally dedicated to pediatric pacing. Instructive discussion on indications common to the pediatric population, mode/pulse generator selection, lead selection, cardiac hemodynamics, special considerations (ie infants and postoperative patients), unique features of temporary pacing in children, and the nursing care of these children and their families, including psychosocial issues, is presented in a useful format. A major emphasis is placed on follow-up of the pediatric patient in order to provide cardiovascular care-givers with the knowledge to optimally program pacemakers for longevity and hemodynamic synchrony.
