Description and Table of Contents
Description
This book provides players with a self-paced, step-by-step programme for learning the important skills and game strategies of Australian football. Coaches and instructors can also use this as a teaching resource. Trevor Jacques shares his approach, which stresses that players must learn the skills needed to play in all positions in order to be effective team players. Each of the 13 steps provides a solid foundation of basic skills and concepts and lets players proceed at their own pace. Students learn the following movements: how to execute the five types of kicks and three types of hand passes; how to evade defensive players; how to gather the ball, take the ball from teammates and from opposing players; how to read a play and think ahead to future plays and manoeuvres.
