内容説明

This series of modern world history aims to present stimulating new material beyond the range of conventional narrative textbooks. Pupils are encouraged to examine primary and secondary sources and to develop historical skills. Original source material included comprises written documents, photographs, maps and charts, which are accompanied by details placing them in context. Titles reflect GCSE examination requirements and are aimed especially at those courses where the study of a topic or period in depth is required. A selection of questions about the topic is also included. This text covers the major events in Germany between World War I and World War II, looking at topics ranging from the formation of the Republic in 1918 through to the rise of Hitler during the 1920s and the emergence of the Nazi party. It discusses the Nazi State and its policies towards different sections of the community such as women and Jews as well as towards the Church and education. In conclusion, the author considers Germany's relationship with other European countries and the legacy of the Nazi party.
