内容説明
Several major advances have been made recently in understanding the aetiology of Alzheimer's disease. This volume contains up-to-date reviews on current key issues relating to both the aetiology and treatment of the disease. Topics covered range from molecular neuropathology through diagnostic and clinical aspects, with both immediate and long-term therapeutic solutions. In-depth analyses are given of the molecular nature of amyloid and tau proteins, the genetics of familial Alzheimer's disease, the role of apolipoprotein E and the use of transgenic models. The neurochemistry of the disease is also discussed, highlighting potential areas for pharmacological intervention.
