This edition, covering all aspects of family planning and reproductive healthcare, has been updated to keep pace with this developing subject and expanded to cover many related areas. The expansion has taken account of broader areas of women's reproductive health, such as the menopause, menstrual disorders, PMS, infertility and other topics; this should help to make the book useful as a reference for family planning clinics. In addition, male contraception is covered in greater depth, as well as prostatic and testicular cancer (in relation to male sterilization), health screening, HIV and the future of contraception (the male pill). The book is aimed at general practitioners, family planning clinic staff, midwives, health visitors and gynaecologists. It can also be used as a study guide for the RCOG Family Planning Faculty Diploma (DFFP) as well as for the Joint Certificate in Contraception, needed by GPs to claim item-for-service renumeration for contraceptive work.
