Description and Table of Contents
Description
Published in conjunction with a touring exhibition, this book brings together a selection of Hockney's drawings, including several from the artist's personal collection. Spanning his entire career, these images show that drawing is at the root of all Hockney's work, including painting. Included in the collection are portraits, landscapes, still-life scenes, images of California and other places Hockney has visited, together with subjects more personal to the artist. There are also numerous black and white illustrations of related works that provide reference material. The text examines Hockney's work as a draughtsman. It is written by the co-author of "David Hockney: Paintings".
