Description
The Mughal school of painting produced a body of work of great distinction. This catalogue offers a critical survey of the miniature painters who worked in the Mughal style over the period 1550-1707. Biographical sketches based on information gleaned from original texts (mainly Persian sources) precede each entry, in alphabetical sequence. The reference work is preceded by an introduction which provides an historical and artistic context for the work of these painters.
