Like the Algonquin Hotel in New York, Virginia Woolf's home in London, and Gertrude Stein's salon in Paris, the home of Rosa and Miguel Covarrubias in Mexico City drew dozens of the world's intellectuals, artists, and celebrities during Mexico's artistic golden age of the 1930s and 1940s.
