Description and Table of Contents
Description
This is a practical manual of the indications, use and complications of vascular access surgery. All forms of vascular access are covered including parenteral nutrition, cancer chemotherapy, hepatic artery perfusion, as well as chronic ambulatory peritoneal dialysis, percutaneous external arteriovenous shunts and permanently constructed arteriovenous fistulae. The book progresses logically with the first section covering planning and assessment, anaesthesia, anatomy and access devices. The central section emphasizes indications, placement, management and complications. There is also a chapter on the care and use of devices, and one on the socioeconomic implications of vascular access surgery.
