This catalogue offers an exploration of Cezanne's work. It includes catalogue entries on nearly 230 paintings, watercolours and drawings. These works are all reproduced in colour and are accompanied by informative commentaries, further insights are provided by comparative illustrations of almost another 300 works. The book traces Cezanne's stylistic evolution from the early dark and violent canvases to the luminous works that gave different qualities to Impressionism, and finally to the late paintings that broke fresh ground.
