内容説明

This reference (commonly known as the "Green Book") contains background material and statistical data on the major entitlement programmes within the jurisdiction of the House Committee on Ways and Means. These are the programmes that affect tens of millions of Americans: social security; medicare; unemployment; compensation; trade adjustment assistance; aid to family with dependent children; child support enforcement; supplemental security income; the title XX social services block grants; child welfare; foster care; adoption assistance; and child care. This volume integrates a description of each programme with current data regarding the population served by the programme, an analysis of interactions with other major programmes and historical background information. Originally published for use by Congress and Government agencies, the book is now being made widely available to the general public and libraries.
