This survey of London journey times, covering a variety of modes of transport, is intended to provide a basis for monitoring average long-term trends in door-to-door journey times. The results showed that for long radial door-to-door journeys between central and outer London, the average time was 60 minutes by car, and 63 minutes, on average, for public transport. For long journeys within outer London, the average time was 38 minutes by car, and 71 minutes by public transport.
