Description
This book has been written for the international business student, especially MBA and Business Studies students, and for managers who have little or no prior training in economics. It provides the analytical `toolkit' necessary to understand the global economic environment within which the business executives of the 1990s and beyond have to operate. The authors' approach emphasises the basic determinants of the demand and supply sides of the economy, business cycles, inflation, unemployment, monetary and fiscal policy, exchange rates and forecasting, rather than the more esoteric features of economic theory. To assist the independent learner who may not enjoy regular tutorial backup, each section begins with a statement of learning objectives and concludes with self-assessment questions. This book is intended for first and second-year students studying economics as part of a BA/HND in Business Studies, International Business, Management Studies or other related subjects. MBA students taking a short course in economics or economic environment.
