Description and Table of Contents

Description

"Anyplace" brings together a number of the world's leading architects, philosophers, artists, historians, critics and others in a volume that represents current thinking on the "place" of architecture in relationship to thought, politics, art, science and the developing technological realm of cyberspace. Essays by Sylviane Agacinski, Fredric Jameson, Peter Galison and Caroline Jones, Elizabeth Grosz, Bernard Tschumi, Arata Isozaki, and Peter Eisenman, among others, and portfolios of current work by artists and architects, including Elizabeth Diller, Rem Koolhaas, and Daniel Libeskind, are enhanced by discussions from the Anyplace conference at the Canadian Centre for Architecture, Montreal (1994), in which many of the authors participated. "Anyplace" is the fourth in a series of eleven planned volumes documenting the annual international, cross-disciplinary conferences being sponsored by Anyone Corporation to investigate the condition of architecture at the end of the millenium.
