内容説明

The human health threat posed by exposure to ionizing radiation continues to present itself on many fronts. The most obvious, nuclear weapons proliferation, puts military personnel and civilians at risk not only during conflicts but also as a result of weapons production and storage. In addition, the peaceful applications of radioactive materials continue to expand in the fields of energy production, medical diagnosis and treatment, and scientific and medical research. This volume reflects the findings concerning the complex nature of radiation injuries and of potential prevention, assessment, and treatment strategies from the April 1993 Second Consensus Development Conference on the Treatment of Radiation Injuries. Leading researchers in 18 countries report their findings in 38 papers.
