内容説明

This work consists of the proceedings of an International conference on "European Law in Context: Constitutional Dimensions of the European Economic Integration", held at the European University Institute in Florence on 14-15 April 1994. The conference had two purposes. Its first purpose was to begin to take stock of research already done and then to develop further the study of European Union Law in its social, political, cultural and economic contexts. In order to do this, the conference focused on a specific set of issues concerning European Union constitutional law. The second purpose was to bring together a relatively small group of specialists for an informal but structured discussion of some of the major issues concerning the future of European Integration. In this respect, the conference involved participants from academic life, law practice, national governments and the European Union institutions. The conference papers, comments by pre-designated commentators and a summary of the conference discussion, in revised or edited form, are contained in this book.
