内容説明
This book is based upon a series of historical and contemporary comparative studies of the disease experience of indigenous peoples in North America and Oceania as a result of their contact with, and domination by, Europeans. It argues that this experience, while similar in ,any ways, has been highly variable, the variations depending upon the nature of the Europeans and the policies they pursued, as well as on the culture and social organisation of the indigenous
peoples themselves.
