This casebook is designed to help students develop skills in analyzing business problems and using productivity tools, such as spreadsheets and database management software, to effectively solve business problems. The six cases investigate a blend of business and MIS issues, encouraging the development of both business and technical/computer skills. The multi-faceted cases are designed to support course objectives. The instructor can tailor each case to support class discussion, a short exercise or an individual/group project. The exercises following each case can be completed by students who have little or no previous experience in using productivity tools, while the questions in each case encourage analysis and planning in reaching a solution to the problem.
