This is the autobiography of a country boy with only a partial college education who rose to cabinet level in two administrations and whose reputation was forever tarnished by his association with those accused of the Watergate Break-in. The book contains a new perspective on Watergate, and includes insights on the most powerful figures of the past 40 years, including Richard Nixon and the Kennedy brothers. Maurice H. Stans was the last budget director to balance the national budget. He served as the Director of the Bureau of the Budget during the Eisenhower administration, and as Secretary of Commerce under Richard Nixon's presidency.
