Description
Pickard's Manual of Operative Dentistry describes clearly and concisely the indications and methods for all common operative and conservative prodedures in dental practice. Procedures and techniques are fully illustrated, often in full colour and, where appropriate, step-by-step sequences are given. In the seventh edition of this well established and respected book there is further consideration of caries risk, the mechanisms of pulpal pathology, and the diagnosis of erosive toothwear. There is more on the clinically relevant materials science of amalgam, composite, glass ionomer cements, and dentine-bonding agents. The 'amalgam controversy' is discussed. As in previous editions every effort has been made to point out areas of ignorance in the hope that the text will serve as a basis of discussion. The book is intensively illustrated with clinical cases, most of which are reproduced in colour. Structured in three parts, Part I covers the principles of diseases and diagnosis, Part II looks at the practical side: instruments, working environment and techniques, and Part III covers the long term considerations of monitoring, maintenance and management.
The book is an essential purchase for all preclinical and clinical undergraduate dental students. This book is intended for preclinical and clinical undergraduate dental students. In collaboration with: Pickard, H. M.;
