The aim of this text is to clarify the design process and explain to non-designers how to define problems, find the right designer, negotiate fees and communicate ideas. Three step-by-step projects - the design of stationery, a brochure and a newsletter - are provided in order to bring the design process to life. A basic guide to typography and printing has been included, as well as an overview of who does what within the graphic design industry.
