Description
Sergei Mikhailovitch Eisenstein (1898-1948) was a film-maker, theorist and teacher of film. This edition of his memoirs reveals the reactions to his film-making during the hostile environment of World War II. Following on from "Volume One: Writings 1922-34", Volume Two: Towards a Theory of Montage" and "Volume Four: Beyond the Stars", this final volume exposes the difficulties he had with authorities during and after the War, and reflects the problems with the ideological position demanded by Stalin and the Russian State.
