This book covers the basic science and technology of water-soluble polymers, and will prove a valuable reference for all workers in this field. In addition, it discusses the recent advances and opportunities for development in the industrial (non-food) applications of water-soluble polymers. Developments in water-swellable polymers, which have become major industrial products in the last decade, are also examined. Water-soluble polymers have a wide range of applications, including their use in building products, detergents, paper-making, textile finishing, agricultural mulches, toiletries and other personal care products. This timely book addresses the recently developed and rapidly expanding field of superabsorbent polymers.
