Description

This is the first electronic bibliography devoted to Shakespeare. The World Shakespeare Bibliography will, when complete, provide annotated entries for all important books, articles, book reviews, dissertations, theatrical productions, reviews of productions, audiovisual materials, electronic media, and other scholarly and popular materials related to Shakespeare, published or produced since 1900. This first CD-ROM contains over 12,000 separate records of material published or produced in the years 1990-1993. The Bibliography will be cumulative: the disk will be updated annually and subsequent CDs will contain both older and newer material, until the period 1900 to the present day is contained on one disk. The scope is international, with coverage extending to 75 languages and representing every country in North America, South America, and Europe, and most countries in Asia, Africa, and Australasia. The entries are annotated. Each is searchable by author, title, subject, keyword, date, medium, language, publisher and periodical title. Users can make Boolean and proximity searches, and may click on names, terms, concepts and titles to bring related works to the screen.
