Description
This work uncovers parallels between the traditional architecture of China and Japan and the buildings of Ludwig Mies van der Rohe. Werner Blaser's photographs make structural similarities underlying van der Rohe's classical modern architecture and Eastern building traditions come into focus. The comparison shows how an architectonic wisdom and sensibility have managed to transcend borders, and invites the reader to witness a surprising encounter as West meets East.
